RMI2 supports Northern Colorado's targeted industry cluster initiatives in the clean energy, bioscience and GIS fields. The cluster initiatives bring together business leaders, university researchers and government officials to develop strategies and pursue joint initiatives that stimulate long-term sustained growth, creating well-paying jobs and fueling economic growth for Northern Colorado in the 21st century.

Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster
The Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster is focused on the strength of the region's current assets in solar and wind energy, efficient energy technology, and green building and energy utilization.

The Northern Colorado Clean Energy Cluster is a business-led, project-oriented group of regional partners seeking to have a global impact. Through mass collaboration, the Cluster intends to position Northern Colorado as a center of expertise for smart grid technologies, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and cleaner and more efficient engines.

Northern Colorado has the foundations for a strong Clean Energy Cluster including a progressive municipal-owned utility, world class clean energy research programs at CSU, end users employing leading edge clean energy technologies, a highly trained workforce, and national recognition for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Larimer Bioscience Cluster
The Bioscience industry cluster includes medical instruments, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and bioscience. The Bioscience industry is one of the world’s fastest growing industries due to recent scientific advances and the benefits offered by the industry.

The Bioscience industry in Northern Colorado:
•Consists of over 50 business employing nearly 600 employees
•Is strengthened by CSU’s leadership in bioscience
•Includes Tolmar, Heska, Inviragen, Nanogen, Keeton Industries, PR Pharmaceuticals, Wildlife Pharmaceutical, among others.

With the addition of RMI²'s new bioscience incubator facility and program in addition to CSU's Research Innovation Center (a 60,000 sq ft incubator facility and GMP labs), Northern Colorado is poised to support the biotechnology industry for year's to come.
